Above are the three words I would choose to describe myself. As a designer and researcher, I love discovering new ways to create and bring things to life. I enjoy being able to come up with new, innovative ways to solve problems. Creating, ideating, and problem-solving are some of my strong suits and design is where I can best apply my skills and my innate empathy for people and their needs.

My Design Philosophy

My design philosophy is simple: good design should be straight-forward and delightful to use. I believe that basic human empathy requires inclusivity. People within our own communities and in different parts of the world all have different perspectives and struggles; but to meet the needs of various users, design must be intuitive and easy to understand. When approaching product design improvements with the users in mind, we can creative innovative changes that improve user understanding without compromising aesthetics. Having this design approach has truly empowered me as a creative, while simultaneously empowering the users I support.

Who I Am Holistically

I’m someone who genuinely enjoys deep human connection and living creatively. My friends know me as the crocheter, the astrologer, the lover of cute things, and the listener. Maybe it’s because my big three are all in Leo (“ruler of the heart'“) that I strive for connection and creativity in life.

I would also describe myself as having an entrepreneurial spirit! Before the pandemic hit, I tried opening a cat cafe in Maryland. I got pretty far in the process, securing funding and looking at locations to rent, but unfortunately the shutdowns in 2020 put my plans on a halt. Since then, my dreams have shifted to following a path in product design, but the experience of trying to open a brick-and-mortar business was invaluable.

I’m also a cat mom and have two cats, Mimi (the Siamese mix) and Maruchan (the ginger tabby).

Being a devoted cat mom, I started crocheting small dolls in 2020 and filling them with catnip to create cute cat toys! I also make larger dolls and other accessories for people. You can see some of my creations below and on my Instagram. A new goal I have for 2024 is to try making other crochet items like bags, pillow cushions, and flower bouquets.
